Hey there!
My name is Daniella Phillips. I’m a new intern with CitiSync.com, a social web utility that makes it super easy to find out what’s going on in your city and to get together with your friends. CitiSync is located in Gainesville, Fla., the home of the Florida Gators! I’m a second year Advertising major at the University of Florida and needless to say a diehard Gator Girl.
When I first moved to Gainesville in the Summer of 2008, I had no idea what there was to do around here. I knew I wanted to have fun, but I didn’t know where to go to find it. Even though I’ve now lived in Gainesville for almost a year and a half, I still don’t always know what’s happening or where to go. I couldn’t even list how many nights I’ve ended up sitting at home, in my PJs, watching The Hills reruns for the umpteenth time because my friends and I couldn’t formulate a solid plan. Then, on the nights I’m lucky enough to find something to do, there’s the never-ending hassle of getting all my friends together. I call Joanna, who texts Mike, who calls Sara, who texts Jeremy, who facebook chats Kellie, who then knocks on my door, so I call Mike, who tells me he already talked to Joanna and Sara… It’s an ongoing cycle of phone-tag, unread texts, unseen facebook messages and utter frustration. But not anymore.
When I first heard of CitiSync, courtesy of an email from one of my professors, I thought the idea sounded interesting. I thought, sure, an easy way to stay in sync with my city and friends would be nice. I didn’t even realize right away the extent to which CitiSync would alleviate my plan-making woes. I now have an easy way to see what’s happening and to notify my friends right to their phones, so we’re all on the same track. Then, I can see right in front of me on my computer screen who’s coming and who’s not. Because I can now so easily see what’s going on around town, I’ll have plenty of fun things to do, so stay tuned to see all the places I get to go and things I get to try because CitiSync lets me know what’s happening!
